Strength Without Size

Random question I've received on strength / size gains, simplified, can you gain strength without
size?

Olympic lifters are a good example of this, Olympic lifters limit themselves to a particular weight by restricting their calorie intakes. You can gain strength without increasing your size due to neural strength adaptations. Let's say you were to bulk up to 180 pounds and then hold your weight steady but keep training hard, you'll continue to get stronger via neural strength adaptations but you won't get any bigger. If however you were to increase your calorie intake and increase your weight to 200 pounds you'll gain size very quickly because you've already got the neural strength, all the size gains you wouldn't have made if you hadn't limited yourself to 180 pounds will quickly come about.
